The reading period for flash fiction is currently open, and the submission cap for short stories has been reached.
GUIDELINES
- All submissions will be considered for both online and print publication.
- We only accept previously unpublished work.
- Simultaneous submissions are accepted (let us know in your cover letter if you’re submitting elsewhere).
- Please only submit text(s) in English.
- Please submit only one complete story at a time. You can submit once in each literary format (flash fiction, short story, and novella), but do not send multiple submissions of a single format.
- Please use double-spacing, 1″ margins, and 12-point Times New Roman font for your text(s).
- No AI-generated work. We WILL know.
- Please give us at least four weeks from the time you submit before contacting us.
There are no submission fees, and published writers of flash fiction and short stories will be paid an honorarium of $5CAD per page, up to $40CAD.
- Flash Fiction: Under 1,000 words.
- Short Stories: 1,000–4,000 words.
- Novellas: 20,000–40,000 words (reading period begins in November).
